Spot Call for a General Election

Much excitement when Prime Minister Theresa May announces a spot election. The poor and down trodden are rightly agitated. Mr Average is going to vote in droves (a lot of them in non traditional ways) and The Labour Party could be looking at oblivion [or at least many years in the wilderness]. CHANGE is happening to the UK whether we like it or not. The church will have a vital role in the days, weeks and years coming up as the countries course is set for the following century. The old ways of winners and losers will certainly continue as, one thing you can be absolutely sure of is that human nature [left to its own devices] never changes. We remain stuck with willfully misunderstanding

Mat 22:37 He said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.'
Mat 22:38 This is the greatest and first commandment.
Mat 22:39 And a second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'

Men are still responding with "and who is my neighbor??" [note they are concerned with the id of a neighbor and disregard God's id all together]

Now by this line some people will be saying "The Church should not be involved with the secular things of life!!" My answer, as always, is that Christian's who do NOT have one foot in Heaven and the other foot planted firmly on Earth are "No earthly good and even less heavenly use." The people of God are supposed to be the salt of the earth, what use are they if they lose their saltiness??

For far too long the church has maintained a survival strategy with a siege mentality, its time to venture outside and get involved with doing Matthew 22 v 37 to 39.

Leading by example?? No! Demonstrating how hard it is to keep God's laws and show by their struggles that the church at least [or even only in its very best efforts] is trying to serve God. In every sphere of life that you can possibly imagine people always set 'goals and targets' and YES people often FAIL MISERABLY BUT at least they know what it is they are aiming for and who knows, if they maintain their struggles, then success could be just around the next corner of life.

People with no goals or targets don't really know where they are going AND at the end of life very often wonder why they never really arrived anywhere, nor where it was that they have been or why they even bothered with anything at all. Wilderness years, we all have them. Time to wake up and ask "What really matters to me?? What should I do??"

The church may not have all the answers but it certainly does know what the questions are.

if you have read this far then you are certainly 'a seeker after the truth.' Sit down quietly and ask yourself 'What compelled me to read this web post?' When you think you have your answer then ask this question 'okay, I am interested in a better kingdom than this one, so where do I go from here?'
