A place to put those work reflections / reviews

Early Days

I had only been in post for a couple of weeks when I said to the home manager "Do you know... I think I am autistic." The manager smiled and said "Every new member of staff comes to that conclusion. Of course, it's the right conclusion to come to. You observe the behaviour of residents in the home and you think "I Do That!". Are you autistic? Yes, of course, we all are :-)

Do you think you are Autistic? Yes, of course, you are, we all are :-) its just where on the Autistic Spectrum you are. Mildly Affected <-----------> Medium Affected <----------> Severely Affected.

UPDATE: - I have been in post now for about 7 months and my perspectives have all changed. What I wrote above is very simplistic, it is all so very much more complicated than this juvenile description. I have completed a couple of training courses now and I have a much better view of the world that I now work in. I am not going to even attempt to go into all the things that I have learned since day one, let it suffice to say that I almost understand my introductory training and in about 5 years time I may even have a clear idea of what I am talking about. Its a classic the more you get to know the more you realise how much there is that you do not know.

It's a classic case of the more you get to know, the more you realise how much more there is that you don't know.
